This specification applies to safety helmets suitable for use in and about coal mines. The specification deals with the construction and materials of the helmet shell and head harness, mechanical strength of the shell and finish of the helmet, and with the lamp bracket and cable attachment. The specification does not apply to industrial safety helmets which are covered by AS Z10.
