Describes electric heating appliances and electric motor-operated or magnetically-driven appliances for household purposes. Appliances not intended for household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, are within the scope of this standard. This standard deals with electric toys, but does not take into account the special hazards which exist in nurseries and other places where there are young children or aged or infirm persons without supervision. Excludes appliances designed for industrial purposes, appliances used in locations where special conditions prevail, separate motors and appliances for high frequency heating except microwave ovens. Appliances used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary.
