This British Standard specifies requirements for ladders with single bar rungs intended to be fixed permanently to structures, including high structures such as chimneys, silos and bins, to provide means of access. Requirements for associated platforms and safety hoops are also given. This standard also covers permanently fixed companionway ladders.
