Describes a barium sulphate gravimetric method for determining the sulphates content of sodium and potassium silicates for industrial use. Requires an electric oven capable of being controlled at 110 plus or minus 20 degrees C and an electric furnace, capable of being controlled at 800 plus or minus 25 degrees C.
