Describes a method for determination of erucic acid (cis-13-docosenoic acid) content in animal and vegetable fats and oils, whether or not hydrogenated, even if cetoleic acid (cis-11-docosenoic acid) is present. Cis-15-docosenoic acid present will be expressed as erucic acid.
