1. Characteristic strengths for DPC materials
Gives guidance on the characteristic strengths developed between mortar and the damp-proof course material according to the mode of loading. The provisional information derive from tentative test procedures given in DD 86 : Parts 1 and 2. The characteristic strengths are intended to be used in combination with the design procedures set out in BS 5628 : Part 1 and concern those loadbearing elements of an unreinforced masonry structure including a DPC.
