Applies to end systems concerned with operation in the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) environment. Defines a combination of OSI standards which together give the connection-mode Transport service by means of the connection-mode Network Service. Applies to the providing of the connection-mode Transport Service in end systems attached to any sort of subnetwork from which the standardized connection-mode Network Service is made available.
