Defines procedures for testing optical instruments and instruments containing optical components, under equivalent conditions, for resistance to combined low pressure and ambient temperature or dry heat. Investigates the extent to which optical thermal, mechanical, chemical and electrical performance characteristics of the specimen are affected, for instance instruments installed or transported inside aircraft or flying objects which do not provide pressure equalization.
