Si applica a tutte le apparecchiature complementari non coperte da altre norme particolari. Il suo scopo è quello di stabilire delle prescrizioni particolari per la progettazione e la fabbricazione che garantiscano la sicurezza e di specificare metodi per la dimostrazione di conformità a tali prescrizioni.
