This standard specifies the safety requirements for transportable band saws intended for use in cutting wood and similar materials, plastics and metals, excluding magnesium, and having a mass not exceeding 25 kg for tools that can be manually lifted by a single operator and not exceeding 50 kg for tools that can be manually lifted by two operators.
