Ensures the use of transfer connections which provide "leak before fail" mechanical protection and thus reduce the risk of significant exposure due to unintended decoupling and use of adapters. Information given is limited to the connection points at transfer stations for tank trucks (cargo tanks). Physical design, fittings, piping and auxiliary equipment, other than connections at the coupling point are not included.
