Basic requirements for construction, performance and testing of lung ventilators, requirements applicable to ventilators used in all kinds of health care facilities are included in particular, requirements for ventilators used in mobile health care facilities or short-term disaster type situations are included. Self-inflating bag mask ventilators or patient-operated devices for delivering positive pressure to the airway are not included in this Standard. Lung ventilators that operate through direct connection to the airway of the patient are featured in this Standard
