Describes the requirements for: a) Assessment of the rectification and repairs necessary to restore distorted, worn or corroded submarine main propulsion tail shafts, couplings and bearing sleeves (liners) to a serviceable condition; b) Performance of such treatment and repairs; and c) Post-repair treatment and inspection. Shaft materials include carbon steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous alloys.
