Specifies methods of preparing asphalt samples from laid material, from mixtures of aggregate and bitumen, cutback bitumen or road tar pitch, taken on site, and of preparing laboratory samples from rolled asphalt mixtures in accordance with DIN 1996 Part 20. It describes the procedure to be adopted in order to obtain the quantities of laboratory sample ('sample', for short) taken from a bulk sample as specified in DIN 1996 Part 2, that are required for performing particular tests (cf. DIN 1996 Parts 5 to 19, and TL but Fug 82) or for specimen preparation as described in DIN 1996 Part 4.
