A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The specimens must be placed in hot cabinets in such a way that they offer as little resistance as possible to the flow of air. If possible they should be suspended. The specimens must be distributed throughout the entire working chamber as uniformly as possible.
