This standard, in conjunction with DIN 5035 Part 1, applies to the artificial lighting of the interiors of education establishments and, mutatis mutandis, to associated outdoor spaces. This standard does not apply, to kindergardens; however, it does apply to rooms used for pre-schooling purposes. For rooms which are tantamount to workplaces, DIN 5035 Part 1 and Part 2 apply. For day-lighting educational establishments, DIN 5034 Part 1 applies.
