The flexing endurance test serves to assess the resistance of flat elastomer test pieces to crack formation and cut growth under repeated flexing. The test procedure described here is mainly suitable for elastomers with an indentation hardness of less than 70 IRHD. DIN 53522-2 describes the determination of the resistance to flex cracking (crack formation) and DIN 53522-3 the determination of the resistance to cut growth. Materials for shoe sales are to be tested in accordance with DIN 53542.
