Like all the other parts of DIN 55350, this deals with the terminology used in quality assurance and statistics. The various parts of DIN 55350 are intended to cover all technical fields involved in standardization. Therefore, the definitions given are not such as to cover only particular fields, e.g. technology, agriculture, medicine. International terminology has been taken into account, particularly International Standard ISO 3534 'Statistics - Vocabulary and symbols' published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the 'Glossary of terms used in quality control' published by the European Organization for Quality Control (EOQC).
