Applies to graduated steel rules (below referred to as rules) with a square cross-section and graduation lengths up to 2000 mm used chiefly for the verification of engineers' rules. The graduated edge of rules for verification purposes thus faces the graduated edge of engineers' rules when the two are placed opposite one another.
