Applies to end systems involved with operation in the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) environment. Defines a combination of OSI base standards for collective provision of the connection-mode Transport Service by means of the connectionless-mode Network Service. Supplies the connection-mode Transport Service in end systems attached to an FDDI LAN subnetwork from where the standardized connectionless-mode Network Service can be made available.
