Prescribes the general performance requirements for in-line package switches; selects the appropriate quality assessment procedures and test methods; and prescribes preferred ratings and characteristics. Includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following sub-families of in-line package switches; slide actuated DIP (dual-in-line package) switches; toggle actuated DIP switches; rocker actuated DIP switches; and rotary actuated DIP switches.
