This Standard is included in DIN Handbook 166. Sets out 8 systems. Does not cover anti fraud systems, or those dealing particularly with ascertainment of error and automatic correction, or with verification of strings interchanged only between machines. Excludes systems meant to: detect deliberate falsification, permit both error detection and automatic correction and check strings interchanged solely between machines. Meant to be used in information interchange between organizations; also strongly recommended as good practice for internal information systems.
