Proposes design and performance requirements for restraint assemblies for wheelchairs and their occupants in motor vehicles. Marking and packaging requirements include detailed information to be supplied with each restraint assembly as guidelines for installation of the assembly into a vehicle. Appendices specify methods of testing assemblies under simulated crash conditions as well as giving advice about the relative merits of various types of wheelchairs for use in vehicles. Provision has been made for StandardsMark certification.
