Proposes requirements for carbon steel electrodes and low or intermediate alloy ferritic steel electrodes for gas metal arc welding. It defines a classification and designation system for the electrodes, and includes a method for the easy selection of the weld metal based on its mechanical properties. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
