Proposes to incorporate the existing AS 1228-1990: Boilers - Water-tube, and AS 1797-1986: Boilers - Fire-tube, shell and miscellaneous, into one document. This incorporation will eliminate the duplication of requirements and avoid the conflict between two such similar documents. It also refers to recently published Standards that are regarded as core documents covering quality control, hazard recognition and welding, thus avoiding considerable duplication and possible conflict in the Pressure Equipment suite of documents.
