Proposes procedures for the removal of scalpel blades from scalpel handles, requirements for devices engaged in the removal process and procedures for the disposal of blades. Does not apply to single-use loaded scalpel blade handles, unless the user elects to separate the blade from the handle prior to disposal. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
