Proposes requirements for boilers which are intended to be operated for periods without human supervision. Proposed changes in this edition include the introduction of accredited boiler attendants, as boiler attendants will no longer be certified by the regulatory authorities. It is also proposed to remove the term 'low-hazard boilers' and identify this class of boiler by the limitations of power output and pressure. It further proposes to remove from Table 1.1 any references to attended boilers.
