This part of this European standard is concerned with the general terms used in non destructive testing, but which stem from other fields (electricity, vacuum technology, metrology, etc.). For the sake of consistency, the definition of these terms, which already exist in the documents mentionned in clause 2 and which are internationally recognized, also apply in non destructive testing.
