Describes Bellcore's view of the overall system functions and performance levels required when a Radio Port Control Unit (RCPU) is connected to a Local Digital Switch (LDS) via the generic Integrated Digital Loop Carrier (IDLC) Interface defined in Bellcore TR-NWT-000303. The interconnection of a TR-303-compliant LDS and RPCU is known as a Personal Communication Services (PCS) Integrated Access System (PIAS). An exchange carrier may use this access platform to offer PCS Access Service for radio Ports (PASP) or to provide Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
