The implementation of an autonomous runway incursion warning system (ARIWS) is a complex issue deserving careful consideration by aerodrome operators, air traffic services and States, in coordination with the aircraft operators. Annex 14, Volume I, Chapter 9, Section 9.12 contains specifications related to the provision of ARIWS.
