This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method of indicating requirements concerning the surface texture by means of symbols on drawings to be used in industrial field. However, the methods of indicating surface texture of the parts, to which special methods of indicating on drawings are applied, such at tooth surface of gear and flank of screw thread are in accordance with respective particular technical drawing standards.
