This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies general matters relating to significance of tightening by combination of bolt and nut, basis of tightening and representative control method. Further, this Standard is applicable to tightening by threaded fasteners other than bolt and nut, and to tightening by combination of threaded fasteners and screws of structure body, as appropriate. However, this is not applicable to set screws and tapping screws which give compressive force the external thread fastener, to wood screws and tapping screws of which external thread fastener itself conduct tapping, and to tightening of threaded fasteners provided with special self-locking function.
