This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies general matters about air or oil direct-on-line (full-voltage) a.c. starters which will be connected to the power lines of not higher than 600 V in voltage and 50 or 60 Hz in frequency to perform starting and stopping of single or three-phase induction motors under the full voltage, hereinafter referred to as the \"starters\". However, this standard does not apply to the starters for ships, vehicles, etc. and those for special purposes such as those for pole-change and those used for the motors of less than 100 W in rated output.
