This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies lamps for torches using the primary battery specified in JIS C 8501 and JIS C 8511 as power source. However, for lamps used with batteries other than primary batteries as well as lamps for use with battery powered apparatus other than torches, this standard applies as practical, so long as the lamp type is the same.
