This Standard specifies such circuit-breakers incorporating residual current protection that the rated voltage of the circuit to which the breaker main contacts are connected is a.c. 1 000 V or less at a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This Standard covers the units which perform residual current detection, compare such measured values with a preset value and perform the protection by switching off when the measured value exceeds the set value.
