This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the AC arc welders of light duty and low duty cycle, among the AC arc welders mainly consisting of a single-phase transformer at a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This Standard also applies to welders of such type that the welding current is regulated only by tap changing (if necessary to be distinguished from others). This Standard, however, does not specify accessories (such as electric shock reducing devices and remote current control devices) integrated in welders.
