This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method to evaluate the susceptibility of molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steels to intergranular corrosion by weighing the corrosion loss produced by immersion of the test specimen in 10 % nitric -3 % hydrofluoric acid solution of 70 centigrade degrees and subsequently by determining the ratio of corrosion rate of the test specimen to that of the standard specimen.
