Testing methods for rubber and plastics hoses -- Part 9: Bending tests Part 9: Bending tests

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies two methods for measuring the performance for bending of rubber and plastics hoses when bent to a specified curvature. Method A should be applied to the hose of nominal diameter 80 or less. The size of apparatus for testing hose of nominal diameter exceeding 80 becomes a large scale. This testing method is also able to measure the force required to reach a specified bend curvature and the test may be carried out at a specified internal pressure to hose. In method B, the bending characteristics, such as the force required for bending, may be measured over a range of temperature form ?60 degree C to +200 degree C. The nature of the apparatus, however, limits its applicability to hose of small size up to the nominal diameter 12.5.
