This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the automatic operating type high-pressure steam sterilizers which sterilize medical devices by using saturated steam or hot water and which have the first grade pressure vessel (excepting small pressure vessel) of 0.25 MPa (2.5 kgf/cm*2) or under in the maximum service pressure of the pressure vessel rules to be determined by the nation. However, sterilizers coping with biohazards including a washer sterilizer are excepted.
