Method for ultrasonic examination for welds of ferritic steel

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method for detecting a discontinuity and for measuring its location and dimensions on full penetration welds of ferrite series steel with thickness of 6 mm or more, in the case of manual ultrasonic examination using pulse echo technique by ultrasonic test instrument with a scope display. However, this Standard is not applied to the examination of joint welds of steel pipes under production process.
