Deze norm beschrijft eem methode voor de bepaling van het gehalte aan de verbindingen die zijn opgenomen in tabel 1 en 2, met de "purge en trap"-techniek, thermische desorptie en gaschromatografie. Door een validatieonderzoek is vastgesteld dat de methode uitermate geschikt is voor de verbindingen in tabel 1. Voor de verbindingen in tabel 2 waren de resultaten van de validatie minder eenduidig. De verwachting is echter dat de nauwkeurigheid van de methode voor deze verbindingen vergelijkbaar is met de resultaten zoals die in hoofdstuk 10 zijn beschreven. De norm is van toepassing op drinkwater, oppervlaktewater, regenwater en (sterk) verdund grond- en afvalwater.
