Gives an approach for handling performances aspects of Positioning-based road ITS systems, that differentiates clearly the role played by the Positioning terminal and by the Application module respectively and also provides with standard definitions of performance metrics for the outputs of the GNSS-based positioning terminal, relevant for road ITS, definitions of the various items to be considered when specifying an Operational scenario together with a method to characterize an environment, and finally procedures to reconcile tests results on the different system components to assess the system End-to-end performances.
