Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für alle handelsüblichen Lichtwellenleiter-Verstärker (OA) und Systeme mit optischer Verstärkung. Sie gilt für Lichtwellenleiter-Verstärker, bei denen optisch gepumpte Fasern (OFA, die entweder auf mit seltenen Erden dotierten Fasern oder dem Raman-Effekt beruhen), Halbleiter (SOA) und Wellenleiter (POWA) zur Anwendung kommen. Der Zweck dieser Norm ist: - die Erstellung einheitlicher Anforderungen für die Übertragung, den Betrieb, die Zuverlässigkeit und die Umgebungsbedingungen für OA; - die Unterstützung für den Käufer bei der Auswahl von dauerhaft hoch qualitativen OA-Produkten für seine persönliche Anwendung.
