This standard applies to ladders, platforms and walkways on the tank wagons fitted with top devices. It does not apply to crossing gangways nor to steps in so far as they are covered by UIC leaflets. It also outlines the important dimensions for manufactures and operators of such tank wagons and takes into consideration the relevant and applicable construction and safety guidelines
