1.1 Purpose This document specifies the procedure and requirements for nitriding steel parts in a process automatically controlled by the nitriding potential.1.2 Application The nitriding process described herein is used typically to produce a nitride case on carbon and alloy steels, tool steels, nitriding steels, corrosion resistant steels and other ferrous alloys, using a process controlled automatically by the nitriding potential.
