With increased appreciation for the limited nature of the world's natural resources, more and more conservation measures are being undertaken by industry, government, and the public. In response to the increasing trend towards more efficient use and re-use of both raw and processed materials, SAE has greatly expanded efforts for the development of standards pertaining to the maintainability, repairability and serviceability of motor vehicles.
