Presents a synopsis of certain proposed Bellcore views on Fiber In The Loop (FITL) architecture. The presentation of these views is intended to lend focus to Bellcore FITL generic requirements efforts and to stimulate industry direction by providing a framework that vendors can utilize as a guideline prior to the availability of full generic requirements documentation. This document presents a summary of architectural direction for FITL. Some base assumptions, definitions and recommendations in this document may assist vendors in directing their efforts to ensure that their FITL systems and components will more easily integrate into the BCC transmission network and operations environment as FITL is deployed.
