GENERIC REQUIREMENTS FOR OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICES IN FIBER OPTIC SYSTEMS
01-12-2013
07-23-2013
Recent advances in optical communication technology have led to the installation of optoelectronic devices in interoffice, loop-feeder and subscriber loop distribution single-mode fiber optic transmission systems. Optoelectronic devices, including lasers, light emitting diodes (LEDs), photodetectors, transceivers and modulators, are critical in determining the multi-supplier compatibility and cost effectiveness of these fiber systems. This document informs the telecommunications industry of Bellcore;s preliminary view of proposed generic requirements and characteristics of optoelectronic devices used in fiber optic transmission systems.
