Presents Bellcore's view of proposed generic requirements for telecommunication wire. It encompasses the "commonly used" generic requirements applicable to metallic telecommunication wire. Individual Bellcore wire technical documents will set forth the criteria for a particular wire and refer to this document as needed. The document covers criteria, requirements, objectives, desired features and appropriate test methods. This issue reflects change in technology and/or in the needs of the user.
