This publication establishes Bellcore's view of proposed generic state requirements for managing Network Elements (NEs). Two state models are presented:- the telecommunications Services State Model, which consolidates the state models previously described in several Bellcore documents and will be used in the Transaction Language One (TL1) interface; the International Standards Organization (ISO) State Model defined in ISO/IEC 10164-2 for the Common Management Information Service Element (CMISE) interface. This document defines an extension to the ISO state model to meet the Bellcore Clients' need for managing their telecommunications networks. Also provides a mapping between two state models for facilitating interoperability among NEs that implement different state models.
